It’s been another month from my previous post on SRI. Though my earning is going down I am still super excited about my online business. Most of time MONEY motivate people to work hard but at a certain level it’s not only the money that motivates people. For me MONEY is great motivator but I do enjoy ‘Keyword Research & SEO’. These two things really excite me. Best ‘Keyword Research’ is a core thing of any online business. If you go wrong in that you will end up doing more hard work on SEO. Low competitive keywords make life easier.
I have been working on one such low competitive keyword in health niche since a month now and my new site is ranking at #15 in Google. 
But sad part is that there is no any product involved in that niche so I have to rely on Adsense for monetising it. It may take few weeks more to get on first page of Google for this new kid. The keyword I am targeting here is have 22,500 exact monthly searches and almost no any website have keyword in domain.

It is been month now and SRI lived without any post! I planned to update this blog minimum twice a week and I failed doing so for this month. Sometime things are never go the way you want but we need to keep going. Finally I made a decision to seat and pen down all thoughts in my mind to sum it up in a post and here I am today. I did my last blog post on 22 March and vanished. Few legit reasons –
- I visited my village and parents where I wasn’t having a net connection.
- I pointed out two different niches and started working with it.
- Lost ranking for another old niche site. I tried to tweak it but failed miserably.
Yes, I visited my village where I wasn’t having any internet connection and that is one reason I could not able to update SRI immediately. Once I came back to Mumbai; I found that one of my old niche site lost ranking in Google. That’s sad part for any webmaster but I always prepare myself for such instances. Building websites, getting good ranking, pulling organic traffic and Losing ranking is not new to me now.

I always amaze when blogger says that they write a 1000 words blog post within a hour. Since my first day as a blogger I always tried to write with speed and long articles for my blog. It is always better to pump quality article within less time and by doing so you are saving some time for you without wasting it. When I start such post and decide to write it within a hour I definitely face some problems.
- Blog post topics
- Titles for post
- Post length
- Creative ideas to make post unique.
Getting ideas to write a quality post is really challenging some times; if you are not blogging about what you love. If you love what you blog about then sky is the limit. There is no more thinking and brainstorming. You just write it because you love it 
. So keep in mind you should love what you blog about, don’t expect people to love it when you won’t !

Almost every blogger is a active creature and they keep doing lot of experiment with their blogs. I am not exception to this. I always keep reading and learning new thing which help me to increase my knowledge. There are few things that I always wanted to be on my blog which are –
- Something that will keep watch on the content that being copied from my articles and published elsewhere.
- An affiliate link hider.
- Something that will thank my commentators.
After a research I solved these problems with couple of wordpress plugins. Those plugins are really helpful to hide the affiliate URL and make them look beautiful.

I missed the Saturday stumble upon post, I missed my pace of writing 2 article per week for this blog 
. I did not done anything actively for smart residual income .
I hate such laziness! It does not take me anywhere. So I turned back and recapped my last week and saw a lot things happened over a week period. I also suffered from popular syndrome called as ‘Bloggers Blue’ and was feeling little down but I remember an quote that say’s “When You Feel Like Quitting Think About Why You Started”
Where I was since last week?
Actually I published my Monthly Income Report on last Tuesday and I was super excited to write more valuable on this blog but suddenly something went wrong and I felt down as if world is going to finish.
Does world really going to finish?
Absolutely NOT ….. I mean I lost ranking for one more EMD site L so lost of one more revenue stream. That website was an EMD and I never build any backlinks for that website but since last 2 to 3 weeks I started building web 2.0 backlinks and I got penalised. That’s the story. I do have one more EMD website which is still bring good traffic without backlinks.

Welcome to second monthly income report of SRI !
Apart from just being hidden blogger in the huge world of web I decided to give me a chance to build something valuable and to keep track of my online activities related to business. That’s how smart residual income blog was born in Dec 2012 and I started documenting my monthly Income. Keeping track of monthly income helps me to decide my goals and choose the things that work better for me. I am not a super blogger who makes $ 100K but I make descent earning that help me to live my life comfortably. If you are new to my blog, I recommend you to read my story.
Please note that whatever money I make online is a result of my hard work and it took me two years to get there. Don’t fall for any promises on the web that guarantee to make you rich overnight. Succeeding online is long process and takes time as well as consistence work.
I am still in the process to diversify my portfolio online and planning to diversify my business so I can have multiple streams of residual income. Currently I am only using Adsense to make money.

On Saturday I usually post my favorite Saturday Stumble Upon posts, where I talks about almost anything I find on web or may be something else. While surfing through the Google I came across a very interesting webpage and a video from Google about ‘How really Google search works?’ It is really a complicated process for Google spiders to find out what we are looking for in the web and Google made a attempt to explain how it works so common people can understand the things.
Whenever we type any search query in Google, it gives back a relevant index of WebPages, videos, images and news. This process completed in several steps and Google explained it in three things –
- Crawling and indexing
- Algorithms
- Fighting Spam

Woohoo!! I am excited to share something with you that almost go against all rules of SEO. I have couple of websites that rank better in Google and give me descent earnings, one of them was really ranked well till the EMD update but after October most of the things has been changed as Google rolled out Panda and EMD updates together and many websites got kicked out!
I was one of them, because I never updated my website once it ranked well (I also build many forum profile backlinks for that site) and Google punished me for that. In Jan 2013 I build one more blog within the same niche and almost in a week period it got ranked well in Google! It seems interesting how I find out such narrow niche and rank within 15 to 20 days in Google and have some planning to share same strategies with you in future posts.
Now come back to the blog that I build in Jan 2013, I have written few posts (almost 7 till date) and currently site ranking #4 for its targeted keyword and pulling good amount of traffic.

I am back!
No I am not went anywhere technically, but I was not updated SRI since a week now! Was busy in some niche research as well as updating my other niche sites. While building a brand new blog; I came across the few things that I do every time when I build new blog and thought it is worth sharing with you if you are about to build a blog this will definitely going to help you.
Don’t Use Free Platform -
Free is powerful but we should know when to use it and when to avoid using free tools when it comes to blogging. Anyone who is serious about blogging and planning to make it either profession or to earn money should avoid free blogging platforms, only because it might look cheap or loose some authority of your blog. I use bluehost for all my website.
There are thousands of free blogging platform out there, few of them are
- WordPress.com
- Blogger.com
These both platform provides free hosting but came with ‘SUBDOMAIN’. Means blog might looks like www.yourblog.wordpress.com or www.yourblog.blogger.com So instead of using this platform buy private hosting as well as domain name. I am not against these free blogs, we can always use them to build backlinks and much more.
